Due to the socio-sanitary conditions experienced in 2020, students were unable to carry out their internships with older people in community institutions in the city of Temuco in the Araucanía region. Faced with this, the group of students and teacher in charge of the practices, made the decision to look for new tools and methods that would allow them to be able to accompany this age group, which was seen with greater prohibitions and health conditions.This article is about the systematization of experience in the work carried out within the socio-emotional accompaniment project, developed during the year 2020 in the context of COVID-19, which mainly affected the elderly, which shows how isolation and gaps digital devices play a fundamental role in people's physical and mental health.The results of the telephone calls made by a group of interns to the older people who participated in the project demonstrate the negative effects that isolation produced in their daily lives and the difficulties encountered by themselves by not knowing how to handle the media. digital to be able to communicate with family and friends.The project started in a context of pandemic and isolation to give voice to the elderly, generating greater inclusion, leaving new questions on how to promote new work tools on the subject of aging?, in addition to opening the question to overcome the digital gaps and exclusion, which must be worked from gerontology, opening the way to effective multidisciplinary work. Creating future projects that intervene and involve the elderly is important and paramount, it should be a concern of the social agenda of each government to form programs that manage to equalize the path so that the quality of life of people, when they reach an older age , be positive and have all the necessary tools for better aging.
