Personal protective equipment use and face acne in health care providers during COVID19 pandemic in Romania

A cross-sectional online survey with 41 items focused on acne lesions developed with google forms was carried out in several centers in Romania. Descriptive statistics and measures of association were used for statistical analysis. 134 responses were recorded, 116 (86.6%) women with 107 (79.9%) . Participants were grouped into generational birth cohorts: Baby Boomers (1946-1964), Generation X (1965-1980), Millennials (1981-1996), and Generation Z (1997-2012). 56.0% of subjects reported new lesions or worsening of acne during the state of emergency and 67.5% in the following 7-9 months. This effect is accentuated with the younger generations.The most common facial areas affected were the chin (70.1%), cheeks (41.8%), nose (34.3%), and neck (34.3%).
